Each step of the process acts as a barrier designed to be independent of any other step and helps to ensure the proper establishment of a safe work area.The intent of this workshop is to explore members’ approaches on the following integral steps for work protection within a hydropower plant: preparation, shutdown, isolation, lockout/tagout, stored energy check, and isolation verification. The learnings from this event will be beneficial for anyone working on relevant equipment within a hydropower plant, and will provide useful insights for members to take away and apply within their own work protection programs.Target Audience:Operation and Maintenance personnel, Work Protection coordinators and Health and Safety professionals.

This webinar, scheduled on April 22 (Tuesday), 1-2 PM Eastern Time will be presented by Ajay Garg and Hemantkumar Barot of Hydro One. The presentation will describe BESS connection projects currently underway in Ontario and the challenges from a Transmission Owner perspective. The presentation will also include Hydro One's concerns and the steps taken to mitigate risk to transmission facilities. Speakers will also share their observations and lessons learned.
