This was Phase I of a two-phase project whereby the diffusion effects of various chemicals into western red cedar, Douglas fir and lodgepole pine utility pole butt segments was investigated. The intention was to eventually introduce two of these chemicals, which would diffuse together and react to form a water resistant barrier within the pole butt. 3331: Laboratory Evaluation of SEFAG VIBREC 400 Live Line Conductor Vibration Recorder on AGS Suspension Clamps

The use of vibration recorders to measure aeolian vibration on overhead conductors in the field on all‐metallic suspension clamps has been performed since the 1960’s. The methodology for taking field vibration measurements on metal‐to‐metal clamps is very well defined and has been standardized by the industry. Armor Grip Suspension (AGS) clamps with helical rod attachments have also been used on transmission lines for many years, but their use is not as widespread as metal‐to‐metal clamps.
