5010: Evaluation of an Environmentally Benign Borate Preservative Treatment to Control and Prevent Internal Decay in Electrical Utility Poles

The relative mobility of an organically borne borate wood preservative and methylisothiocyanate in wood was evaluated under dry climatic conditions. Western red cedar and lodgepole pine stubs cut from dry pole tops were treated internally with the preservatives and the migration of the active ingredients was measured over a one-year period.
