G949: Testing Methods for Limestone as Sorbents in Dry Injection for PF Boilers

A testing method for limestone as sorbents in dry injection technology has been developed using a drop tube furnace. The apparatus was operated under a wide range of conditions: - Temperature: 1173 to 1673 K- Residence time: 0.5 to 2.0 s- Solid feed: 1 to 4 g/min, corresponding to Ca/S: 1 to 4- Gas concentrations: 300-5000 ppm SO2- Quench ration: as required. Four limestone plus a reference sample were investigated for their performance as dry injection sorbents.
