Bench and pilot-scale tests were conducted at OHT to investigate the NOx removal potential of certain chemicals rich in amidogen (NH2) source. The constant speed drive on a boiler I.D. Fan with a 4160 volt motor was retrofitted with a 600 volt adjustable frequency drive utilizing input and output transformers. A test program was implemented to determine the viability of this concept. Results of the program are described.
