T219A: Measurement System for Evaluating Powerline Interference to Instrument Landing Systems
This reports document work to characterize power-line noise at the frequency of aircraft Instrument Landing Systems (ILS), to determine theoretically the interference mechanisms and noise-power levels associated with degradation in ILS receivers, to substantiate theory through field measurements, and to design an automated system for real-time measurement of power-line RF noise and the corresponding degradation, if any, to ILS receivers. The theoretical analysis began with an examination of pert
