U733: Development of the Microwave Rendering Process
The application of microwaves to the rendering of a variety of beef, pork, poultry, and fish wastes was tested at a pilot-scale. Microwave rendering was found to be best applied to edible fat processing. Processing of fish wastes may also have promise using microwaves.The use of microwaves for processing of beef, pork, or poultry wastes are technically possible, but not economically feasible.
