3329: Dynamic Finite Element Analysis of a Test Transmission Line Using ANCO Load Reduction Device (LRD)

This study presents the validation of a numerical model used to simulate the full-scale broken conductor tests performed by Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). The transient response of the conductor and its effect on adjacent towers is presented with and without the ANCO load reduction device. 3309A: Study of the Electrical and Mechanical Performance of Substation Equipment Subjected to Icing and Proposed Mitigation Solutions

This report reviews 29 anti-icing/de-icing (AIDI) methods for application to substation equipment, to prevent or reduce service interruptions due to ice or snow conditions. It provides sufficient information to understand the nature of the problems for various types of equipment, and to evaluate and select adequate solutions. Icing intensity, that is Water Equivalent Thickness (WET), is the key factor defining the nature and the frequency of problems for four types of equipment considered.

3309C: Tests Conducted on Anti-Icing and De-Icing Products

1- The B-Free product from MISI showed the best anti-icing properties, preventing ice accumulationup to 8 mm on a horizontal surface under the best conditions. 3335: Comparison Between Unbalanced Ice Loads and Security Loads and Assessment of their Impact on Line/Structure Designs

This study compares unbalanced ice loads (UIL) and broken conductor loads (BCL) with climatic loads on various types of lines and structures and assesses their impact on line and structure designs.
