In this research project, a study was made of the catalytic effect of alkaline salts on peat and wood gasification, especially the pyrolysis stage. A literature survey showed that very few studies have been made on this subject to date. Since the pyrolytic reactions contribute to the final gas composition, it was therefore decided to conduct a thorough study of the catalytic effects of alkaline salts on pyrolysis from the point of view of gas production and activation energy.

G661: Activation and Recycling of Wastes from In-Furnace Slurry Injection

Activating spent sorbent from a once-through slurry injection process and recycling it to the furnace is a very effective way of improving sorbent utilization and reducing the cost of sulphur capture.
