G627: Development of a Strain Gauge Based On-Line Structural Integrity Monitoring System for Fossil-Fuelled GS

This study has investigated and further developed strain-gauge based monitoring systems for fossil fired generating stations. It has been determined that such systems, particularly those based upon capacitance strain gauges, can be very useful and cost-effective in assessing the safety of critical plant components and in increasing their availability.
