T77: Standard Contamination Test Method For High Voltage Insulation Systems

The contamination flashover is the most important problem with high voltage outdoor insulators. To assess the contamination performance of various insulator designs, artificial test methods are needed. Test philosophies have evolved based on the mechanisms of pollution deposit and insulator wetting conditions. Although numerous test methods have been considered and applied over the years, two distinct methods have evolved.

T752: Control Coordination of Fast Acting Voltage Control Devices - PHASE I

The object of this report is to present the state of the art in the co-ordination of controls of several fast acting voltage control devices in a power system, and to indicate directions for further development of study procedures and criteria. This objective is achieved with the help of a detailed literature survey and a questionnaire on the subject filled out by utilities indicating their present practice in controller tuning and co-ordination and presenting their requirements for the future.

G67: Investigation of Boiler Tube Inspection by Infrared Thermography

The application of infrared thermography to the inspection of boiler tubes for internal defects was studied. A technique was identified whereby simulated internal defects could be detected under laboratory conditions. Since the technique relies on the ability to circulate water through the boiler tubes under "shut down" conditions, it could only be used at a limited number of generating stations immediately.

D1000: High Impedance Fault Relay Testing

A test system and protocol has been developed for the testing of high-impedance fault detection devices. The system uses digitized data from recorded faults and normal currents to generate analog test signals for high-impedance fault detection relays. Three devices which have recently become available were tested and their performances were evaluated based on the test results. T784: Characteristics of Stress on Transformer Insulation Subjected to Very Fast Transient Voltages
