3002: Monitoring Of Transformer Condition By Dielectric Analysis

Dielectric analysis measurements performed on samples of Voltesso 35 transformer oil show a clear change in these properties as the oil ages. Of the parameters measured; permittivity, loss factor and tan delta, the loss factor appears to be the most sensitive to aging. Dielectric analysis was performed at a series of frequencies (600Hz to 0.006 Hz) and temperatures (30˚C to 100˚C), with the lowest frequencies and highest temperatures exhibiting the greatest sensitivity to aging.Transformer paper
